Speeding?  Pulled over for not wearing your seatbelt?   Did a "STOP" (Spin Tires on Pavement) in front of a cop?

Outside of the stress of having the red and blue lights, do you know what that ticket might do to your auto insurance premium?

Insurance.com recently conducted a study of almost a half million insurance quotes provided to drivers by from 14 different insurance companies from 2009 to 2011.   The study compared insurance quotes given to drivers with the 14 most common violations and compared them to quotes to drivers with no violation.

Out of that study... the "Uh-Oh" calculator which can provide you with an estimate of what your rate might increase by, you can find it by clicking here!

Based on the study, on average, a speeding ticket of 30 miles per hour or more will increase your premium by 15%.   That's almost a $200 increase on a typical annual insurance premium.

Speeding 1 to 29 miles per hour above the speed limit resulted on a 11% to 12% insurance premium hike.

After going through DD school (which is way better than paying) it is wise to shop around for new insurance to see which company will provide some incident forgiveness.
