Sprint PCS cares about the safety of its customers. We believe that when our customers are behind the wheel, their most important responsibility is safe driving. That means not drinking a beverage, reading a map, or taking their hands off the wheel and eyes off the road to use a phone or change a radio channel. Sprint PCS encourages people to drive responsibly and put safety first. Before Sprint PCS customers begin using their Sprint PCS Phones, we ask them to take a moment to consider the following tips that will help them use their wireless phones safely and responsibly wherever they are:
  • Obey all posted traffic signs
  • Always wear your seatbelt
  • Make certain you are well rested prior to traveling
  • Give yourself ample time to arrive at your destination
  • Watch for speed reduction zones
  • Take caution around road construction
  • Have your vehicle inspected by a qualified mechanic before traveling
  • Have your oil, tires (spare), lights and belts and hoses checked
  • Pack food, water and a set of tools (screw drivers, wrenches, flashlights)
  • Make certain that people know when you are leaving and when you are due to arrive at your destination; inform them of your traveling route
  • Have a well-planned route as well as an alternate route
  • Get to know your Sprint PCS phone and its features
  • Use a hands-free device such as an ear bud or headset while driving so you can focus your attention on safety
  • Take advantage of Sprint PCS services with convenience and safety in mind - these include Sprint PCS Voice Command, which lets your voice do the dialing; use features such as speed dial and one-touch redial
  • Position your phone within easy reach and refrain from taking notes or looking up phone numbers while driving
  • Practice common courtesy when using your phone in the company of others (e.g. - simply turn the phone off or silence the ringer)
  • Dial 9-1-1 to report serious emergencies - it's free from your Sprint PCS phone
  • Dial sensibly and assess the traffic; place calls when your vehicle is not moving
