Taking DefensiveDriving.com is simple. In fact, we'll show you just
how simple it is.
1. Sign Me Up
It only takes a few minutes to register and you can get started right away. Simply click
on the sign me up button and complete the online form. You'll need a
valid Driver's License and a Visa, MasterCard, or American Express to pay and
get instant access. You may also pay by mailing a personal check or
money order to PO Box 4346, Dept 112, Houston, TX 77210-4346.
Once we have processed your payment, you will be e-mailed the information
needed to log in and begin taking the course.
2. Start the course
Once you have registered and paid for the course, you will be able to log in to begin
a series of lessons consisting of text, videos, and interactive animations. Take as
much time as you need on each page, then proceed by clicking the Next button. You
may review material at any time by clicking the Previous button to go back.
3. Use the tools
DefensiveDriving.com has many features to help you throughout the course.
The Browse button lets you access lessons you've already studied. The Glossary
provides fast access to definitions of technical terms and the Help button
offers an index of hints for getting the most out of the course.
4. Log off
When you need a break, be sure to log off (you may even log off in the middle of a lesson).
If you are inactive for seven minutes, you will be logged off automatically (when you are automatically
logged of, you will not receive credit for that segment).
5. Answer the questions
DefensiveDriving.com will periodically quiz you about driving safety during the
course. These questions are important and the state requires that you answer a minimum of 70% of the course questions and 70% of the video questions correct to proceed to the final exam.
6. Take the final exam
The final exam counts for 100% of your grade. So answer carefully. Once you are finished,
you will submit the exam online and receive your results immediately!
7. Review
If you do not pass the exam, we will create a personalized review for you based on the
questions you answered incorrectly, you can then review the material for as long as
you like and retake the exam a maximum of 3 times. Our goal is for you to learn the material and become a safer driver.
8. Receive your Certificate
If you answer a minimum 70% of the exam questions correctly, you pass! You will receive your Certificate of Completion via US mail
in 7-10 business days. If your deadline is fast approaching you may choose our
Express Service (there is a $25 fee) and we will send your Certificate of Completion overnight via
FedEx. This is an official document and cannot be printed from your
personal computer.
