Suggested Solutions for Media Player Issues.
(We suggest that you use Internet Explorer to access our course. Internet Explorer generally comes with Media Player.)

1. Check to see if you have Media Player installed
   If you do not see the video controls on the test video, click on the link below for a free download of Media Player.
   If you see the video controls, Proceed to Solution 2.

   Instructions for Download (for Windows operating systems only):
   • After clicking on the link, select Save program to disk
   • On the next screen, next to Save In, select your Desktop and click Save
   • The download progress bar will then appear
   • Uncheck the box that says "Close this dialog box when complete."
   • When the file is done downloading, click on open and follow the installation instructions.
     
     
2. Clear your temporary Internet files
   • Click on "Tools" on your Internet toolbar
   • Then choose "Internet Options"
   • Then click "Delete Files" (instructions for Internet Explorer)
   • Place a check in the box that states delete all offline content
   • Click OK twice
     
     
3. Change your protocols (instructions for Media Player 7.1)
   • Right click in the black Media Player box and select "Options"
   • Click the "Advanced" tab
   • Click the "Change" button
   • Under "Protocols" uncheck the "UDP"
   • Place checks next to "TCP" and "Use browser proxy settings"
   • Click "OK" twice
   • Refresh Page
     
     
4. Check to see if you have the required codecs installed
   • Right click in the black Media Player box and select "Properties"
   • Click the "Advanced" tab
   • You should have a video and an audio codecs installed (check in the "Codecs In Use" section).

     Instructions for Download:
   • Under Select Download, click the drop down arrow and select Codecs Installation Package.Under Select Version select version 8. Click Download Now.
   • On the next screen, select Save program to disk
   • On the next screen, next to Save In, select your Desktop and click Save
   • The download progress bar will then appear
   • Uncheck the box that says "Close this dialog box when complete."
   • When the file is done downloading, click on open and follow the installation instructions.
