Defensive Driving School (2011-05-16)

While it's certainly a trite thing to say and probably a bit over used, it's definitely better to be safe than sorry. That saying is no more true than when it pertains to driving. Most of us who have driven for any amount of time have at the very least witnessed an accident, or the aftermath of an accident, if not been in one ourselves. There's a feeling of relief that drivers get when they have a situation on the road where they narrowly avoid an accident or when they've been through one with little or no damage to themselves or their vehicle.

There's a similar feeling of relief after we're driving a little fast and then notice a state trooper but are either able to slow down before he notices or are simply lucky enough to get past without seeing those flashing lights in the rear view. Feeling relieved after these situations comes because there's a realization that the situation could have ended a lot worse, either in a serious accident or a traffic violation. Many drivers will swear to themselves that they won't make the same mistakes again in order to avoid those situations but not nearly enough take the necessary steps in order to put themselves in a position to fulfill on that vow, such as enrolling in a defensive driving school.

The skills that any driver, regardless of experience level, will acquire in a class through a quality defensive driving school will prove their value time and time again. It's important that it be noted that even experienced drivers will benefit greatly from a defensive driving class because many who have been driving for decades tend to disregard these courses and that's a mistake. For starters, there are obvious tangible benefits for which many people attend defensive driving school, specifically receiving an automobile insurance reduction or a ticket dismissal. But there's the applicable skills they will learn and those that they'll have refreshed when they go through a well designed defensive driving course, like the ones offered at DefensiveDriving.com®.

We've known from the very beginning that anyone can attend defensive driving school to simply get a ticket dismissal but we felt that by not offering a course that also teaches useful skills to drivers that there was a missed opportunity. We believe that everyone wants to be a safer driver and by making it easy to attend defensive driving school from home on your own schedule, we're giving all drivers the opportunity to do so.
