September 29, 2010 | in The Daily DriveIn the United States alone… that equals a lot of potential for cell phone use while driving. As I discussed, Sec. of Transportation, the honorable Mr. La Hood considers distracted driving an epidemic… and it is. Consider these three facts alone as provided by the National Safety Council:
Motor vehicle crashes are the No. 1 cause of death in the United States for 3 to 34 year olds.
Crashes are among the top three causes of death throughout a person’s lifetime.
Crashes are the No. 1 cause of work related death.
So the question becomes, if the numbers are already this bad – why on earth would you drive and talk on a cell phone?
