All Aboard has a little different meaning now
July 28, 2011 | in The Daily DriveSo there will be more than just the engineer riding in locomotives in Texas for the next couple of months. Today, a program was kicked off to help further deter individuals from racing trains to get across the tracks before the train. Officers will be riding with engineers on trains engineers have known issues with and if they witness someone going around warning signals or racing a train to cross, they will alert another officer via radio and the driver will be ticketed.
Apparently it is so widespread they are dedicating officers to catch the individuals doing it. As DefensiveDriving.com’s online driver safety video, Wheels in Motion and the clip below explains, in the race between a car and the train, the train always wins. Even if it doesn’t you might end up with a ticket at any rate.
