Are you prepared?
June 23, 2010 | in The Daily DriveAre you ready for a flat tire? I thought I was, but I got a reminder the other night that I actually wasn’t. Seems simple enough but there is one item that would have made the job a whole bunch easier…..a flashlight, and maybe a pair of gloves.
A flat tire at night and the prospect of only historically changing my tires in daylight caused a small problem that would have been made a lot simpler if I could actually see where I could put the jack and what was under the car.
Driver safety and car maintenance is something we all should have a refresher course on, before we actually are reminded of it the hard way. I have decided that on a regular basis when I get the oil changed in the car, I will double check all safety / maintenance equipment. After all, how often do we just get in the car, turn on the key and go? Probably more often than we care to admit to.
So tonight, I will get a flashlight, a pair of gloves and check everything to make sure I am ready for the next time. A defensive driving course or maybe a safety driving video from Youtube could be just what I need to make sure I cover everything.
