Attention Young Drivers: You are NOT Invincible!
March 18, 2011 | in Rules of the Road: Driving TipsGrowing up and gaining brand new freedoms can be an amazing and empowering thing, but unfortunately, the boundaries between exercising freedom and delving into recklessness are often crossed by younger drivers. Indeed, younger drivers are certainly most at risk of being involved in serious accidents as according to the US CDC, motor vehicle crashes are the leading cause of death for US teens, and this is not only due to lack of driving experience; it can also be said that in a number of cases where an accident involving a young driver occurred, the blame for the accident lies with the younger driver being reckless in his or her driving behavior.
Attention young drivers: you are not invincible! Although testing your limits may be good in certain situations, this is most definitely not the case when it comes to driving. Undoubtedly, teenagers and other young drivers need to realize that speeding, blasting the music on the car stereo, or otherwise driving in a manner which could be considered as ‘reckless’ certainly has led to serious accidents and sadly, will continue to do so in the future. However, this sad trend can be reversed if young drivers would just recognize that they are not invincible, and thus should drive in a safe manner.
If you are a young driver, be sure to recognize the great importance of safe driving behavior. You can even learn how to improve your driving skills further by taking a high quality defensive driving class, so be sure to find out how to become a better and safer driver today!
