Drive Safely Work Week October 3rd through October 7th
October 3, 2011 | in The Daily DriveThe Network of Employers for Traffic Safety, otherwise known as NETS and the Department of Transportation are getting the word out October 3rd through the 7th is designated Nation Drive Safely Work Week and the theme is “Getting there safely is everyone’s business”. Since 1996, NETS has been providing employers and drivers alike, valuable information with respect to employee driving and safety, the 1st week of October.
All week, DefensiveDriving.com will be focusing on providing updated traffic safety information and informative links to drive home the importance of everyone, whether they drive for a living or not, on safe driving behaviors.
On of today’s focuses is on distracted driving. Distracted driving is quickly becoming a regulated issue inside and outside the workplace. Employees can expect an company handbook will included a Distracted Driving policy and anticipate disciplinary action for violating the policy, up to and including termination.
The Department of Transportation has a great website with really powerful videos which put a very human story to the problem of distracted driving.
