Driving Safely
October 27, 2011 | in Driving DistractionsDriver safety is very important. As drivers, our lives and the life of others are at stake. Driving safely can prevent traffic citations, accidents, and deaths. I believe that all drivers should be required to complete a state approved defensive driving course every 3 years; every year if the driver is a senior citizen. Not only will taking a defensive driving course refresh your driving skills, it can also be used for ticket dismissal, and discounts for auto insurance.
Using your blinker can save a life. Stopping completely at every stop sign can prevent an accident. Driving at the required speed limit can prevent a speeding ticket. If you’ve had more than one drink you should not get behind the wheel. If you have taken any prescription drugs that cause drowsiness your should not drive. You do not want to be the cause of a fatal crash. We all have been instructed on these simple yet highly effective driving habits.
The next time you get behind the wheel think about how many lives can be affected by the way you drive. Every person’s life is just as important as yours. Every person has a destination just like you. Every day that you drive safely is another day a person lives. Drive Safely people, no matter the circumstances and that is doing the right thing!
