Drug that could save lives?
June 23, 2010 | in The Daily DriveHere is an interesting article about a drug called TXA that could save a lot of lives… http://www.webmd.com/fitness-exercise/news/20100614/drug-could-be-a-lifesaver-for-accident-victims
The stats are amazing, worldwide more people die every year from road traffic injuries (2 Million) than do from violence, warfare and suicide (1.6 Million) (sad category). The study states that if more people had access to this drug TXA which helps the blood clot, the number of trauma deaths related to road traffic injuries would significantly decline.
DefensiveDriving.com through its state approved defensive driving advocates safer driving behavior but certainly, more access to this drug could help lower this unfortunate statistic.
Really driver safety is about preventing accidents, but when they happen, it is good to know there is research and medications out there which can save lifes in the event of a traffic accident.
