Thursday morning on June 23,2011 at about 8:30 a.m a two-vehicle crash occurred on southbound 288, according to Metro officials. The driver of an out-of-service Metro bus died this morning after he collided with a dump truck and slammed into a pillar at a railroad overpass on Texas 288 near McGregor. It was said the driver may have experienced a medical issue just prior to the crash. The accident investigation kept the two main lanes closed for a extended period, which is why TexDot was asking drivers to try and use a alternate route. One lane was getting by; however, congestion was significant and traffic was moving extremely slowly.
