Fleet Driver Training
August 2, 2010 | in The Daily DriveDid you ever have to take a driver safety course as an employee who rented a car? As an employee driving, you have certain obligations and responsibilities, whether you are a fleet driver or sales executive, you are driving at some point, either for business or to get to the business itself. You would think your employer would put you through some type of company driver training. You are trained on how to use the computer, the software and almost certainly your employer covers company policies with you such as conflict of interest, sexual harassment or acceptable cyber use, but are you actually provided with a policy or program to make you a safer driver? Is there a driving policy at your company focused on employee driving?
Is company driver training a priority? Should it be? As an employee driving, do you know your rights? Do you know your liability? Whose insurance is covering you if you are driving on company time but in your personal vehicle? Could you lose your job because of an accident? Is there comprehensive driver safety policy in place at your organization and if not should their be?
