Symposium on Human Resource Issues 2010
May 14, 2010 | in The Daily DriveThe 2010 Gulf Coast Symposium on Human Resource Issues at Reliant Center wrapped up yesterday. It was a great conference for all involved and I was glad DefensiveDriving.com was an exhibitor. We talked with a great number of Human Resource Professionals and it was amazing the number of organizations that do not have a comprehensive driver safety policy or driver safety training in place. Based on the conversations I had with a number of different decision makers, the need for a company driver training program exists and very few companies are utilizing an online driver safety program today.
Further, several organizations were interested in how they could utilize our program as a subsidized or unsubsidized employee benefit program, whether they were employees who drive company vehicles or not, the discounts for auto insurance they could provide for their employees was compelling.
I was very excited to discuss a corporate driver training program with so many influential human resource professionals.
Today was a bad day on the roads of Houston… four accidents, most of which included more than three vehicles. Do you ever notice people are always on the phone after an accident (what did we do before cell phones???), I wonder if they were talking on the phone prior, a little distracted driving perhaps?
Have a safe weekend!
