I am really surprised!

The DefensiveDriving.com family spent its 4th of July at the Woodlands Red, Hot and Blue festival on the Woodlands Waterway.   It was a great event for kids and family!   We had a lot of visitors to the DefensiveDriving.com  booth and I was truly surprised by the number of people I spoke with who really do not know there is a choice to take an online driver safety course for ticket dismissal or insurance reduction in Texas.

A lot of people I spoke with either took the course in a classroom or they paid the ticket.   I am really surprised by the number of people who do not know about their choices when it comes to defensive driving courses in Texas.

So in the event you get a ticket in the next couple of weeks or your holiday weekend was ruined by a chance encounter with an officer of the law, here is the process.

When you receive the ticket you have to get permission from the court that has jurisdiction over your case to take a driver safety course.   Once you receive permission from the court to take a driver safety course for ticket dismissal, you have two choices, to either take the course via an online driver safety course such as the ones offered by DefensiveDriving.com or you can take it via a classroom.

Why would you take a classroom course?   They are only offered on limited days – usually a Saturday, you are going to have to meet some new people, who maybe you did not want to meet and you typically will pay more for the experience, because they are going to feed you some bad food.  The classroom course provider still has to mail the certificate of completion to you, so you still need to give it time to arrive – it is against the law for the classroom provider to give you the certificate!

So why not take a state approved defensive driving course online with DefensiveDriving.com.   You have up to 90 days to complete, you can log in and out as many times as you like, you take it in the privacy and comfort of your on home, you do not have to meet a bunch of new people and it is generally less expensive.   Please make sure to verify the course you are taking is a state approved defensive driving course, there are courses out there that advertise as a defensive driving course online but they are not approved for ticket dismissal.

If ever there was a convenient way to take care of your driver safety course requirement, it is www.defensivedriving.com, Texas’ original and leading online defensive driving course for ticket dismissal and discounts for auto insurance.
