It’s Time for Some Spring Cleaning for Your Car!
April 9, 2011 | in Rules of the Road: Driving TipsSpring is here and that means that the surely beloved tradition of spring cleaning is under way throughout a number of homes all across America. However, aside from the home’s cleaning needs, it also may be a great time to clean the car! Indeed, if cleanliness is next to godliness, then having a clean car will most certainly help the car owner to feel great about him or herself, but having a cleaner car can also mean increasing the driver’s chances of staying safe on the road!
Dirty windows and dirty mirrors can have the greatest impact on the chances of improved safety for a driver; undoubtedly, having good and clear visibility is important while on the road, and making sure that your car’s mirrors and windows are spotless will help to keep your vision of the road unobstructed. It’s also important to note that when performing your spring car cleaning, it’s a good idea to review your car’s emergency kit. If you don’t have an emergency kit, then it’s certainly a good time to start building your emergency kit by procuring some bandages, gauze pads, warning lights or flares, pen and pad of paper, weather-proof flashlight, jumper cables, basic tools such as a wrench, knife, pliers, etc., as well as a blanket and/or extra warm clothes.
After washing the exterior and cleaning/organizing the interior, you will no doubt feel much about yourself and the appearance of your car! Be sure to do some spring cleaning for your car this upcoming weekend, and when you’re finished, be sure to learn more about how to keep safe and sound on the road by taking a quality defensive driving class.
