Throughout significant periods of our lives such as giving birth, finding that awesome job that keeps you on your electronic device, or simply aging- we all experience changes in our vision and perception. As Americans live longer and are active longer, many will drive longer introducing us to this important topic: Mature driving.
Mature driving courses are defensive driving courses for the older drivers. Topics for these courses include:
- Fitness and aging
- Backing up
- Special driving situations
Because humans are habit forming, it is important to practice good habits. In many instances one may go decades without a refresher course on driving skills and behaviors. For instance, do you recall the reaction time associated with your driving speed to bring your car to a halt? What should you do if your hood flies up when driving?
