May is National Bike to work month
May 18, 2011 | in The Daily DriveMay is National Bike to Work month. In conjunction with Earth Day and in these times of crazy gas prices, more people are going to be promoting biking to work. Bicyclists share the road with most cars and it is important as drivers we are on the look out for bicyclists.
This is easier said than done. In fact, most drivers, do not expect to see a bicycle on the road with them, it is the exception not the rule and the individuals lack of size compared to those in a car, makes them somewhat invisible to most drivers. DefensiveDriving.com through its driving safety school has created this video, which can be used for point reduction, ticket dismissal or insurance discounts, to emphasize the importance of paying attention while driving and how we sometimes do not see all the people around us – on bicycles!
