Road Rage?
June 7, 2011 | in Driver Safety For You & Your FamilyI have heard many stories about sharing the road with drivers and the crazy things people do on the road. It is bizarre that many do not feel that their reactions in driving situations is, what it is: Road Rage. Road rage is an aggressive or angry behavior by a driver of an automobile or other motor vehicle. When someone tells you they were cut off on the road so they followed the driver, that IS road rage.
Just two weeks ago I witnessed a very upset driver at a daycare. She was approaching everyone in a black vehicle to ask if they had just exited the highway and turned right from the center lane. The upset driver was quite aggressive in her approach and a few moments later found the person that cut her off. I knew she was found when I heard an escalated conversation in the hallway. This case of road rage could have turned out very badly.
Emotions and driving as well as aggressive driving is covered in the DefensiveDriving.com approved defensive driving course. An emotional driver is a dangerous person operating a multi-ton weapon. When you drive aggressively or with your emotions, the correct driving decisions are not always made.
