Safe Reactions
July 15, 2010 | in Driver Safety For You & Your FamilyPicture this. You are on the highway with a child buckled into the car seat in the back of your vehicle. You look back and the child is no longer in the seat. Cars are going 60 mph+. A door could fly open, someone could hit you on any side, the child could be passed out on the car floor, anything could be happening, right!
This actually happened to me last week and prompted me to browse an important subject, distracted driving. I often find myself having conversation, singing, and checking on my child while she is in the back seat. I was surprised that child related events in the vehicle was not one of the top two or three reasons for distracted driving.
This is exactly why choosing the right driver program is so important, as the courses provided by DefensiveDriving.com. Because of the material in the course, I was able to react and make it home safely. Topics from distracted driving to making sure your child has the proper child seat are strategically discussed to keep drivers alert and aware at all times.
Plan to be safe. You never know when you will have to react in an emergency situation. Make sure you are prepared by taking the right course.
