The four way stop
March 23, 2011 | in The Daily DriveThere is a new use of four way stop signs here in the Harris County area. Local law enforcement officials are using them for a variety of checks. First off, you have to come to a complete stop – which you will because of the constable in the middle of the road. Second, you had better have your seatbelt fastened, or guess what – you are getting a ticket. Third, you should have your registration updated or you are getting a ticket.
I have witnessed more and more of these types of captive road blocks in the area. Speeding is not the only game in town. Tickets can be issued for other non moving violations, from cracked windshield, lack of a current inspection sticker, no registration, no insurance, you name it, if you come to these four way stops, they are looking for opportunities to ticket.
So if you have come to a four way stop and got a ticket, remember, got a ticket, just click it. DefensiveDriving.com provides online driver safety for company driver training, discounts for auto insurance, ticket dismissal and point reduction programs.
Make sure your vehicles registration is up to date, you are wearing your seatbelt, not speeding and please avoid the officer at the four way stop!
