Traffic Safety Campaign
March 26, 2012 | in southernbelledriverThe new child transportation safety campaign from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and Ludorum is Think Safe, Ride Safe, Be Safe! The leading cause of injury and death for children continues to be traffic incidents. We can not predict when incidents will occur but we can certainly educate ourselves. The four main focal points are: car seat safety, bike, pedestrian, and bus.
All 50 states are in agreement that car seats help save lives. A car seat must be the right fit for the child’s age and size. In order for it to do that it must be installed properly to sustain adequate protection. A child requires the right seat used in the right way. Another great safety equipment for child safety is a bicycle helmet for riding.
Not only will this campaign help educate us in child transportation it will allow us to teach children how to follow and practice common sense around cars, on bikes, around the school bus and walking. Most young children who are hit by motor vehicles are injured near their home or on neighborhood streets. Let’s all do our part in keeping our children safe.
