What’s your story?
June 13, 2010 | in The Daily DriveI’ll never forget, a long while back, I had this car that went, well, too fast and I was in the habit of see how fast it would go. I was on my way to go skiing and I was exceeding the speed limit quite severely. I had a radar detector so I was feeling fairly confident there would not be a speeding ticket in my future.
Around twenty miles ahead, the car in front of me started to brake and we both brought our speeds down, mainly because I did not want to become part of his car.
Shortly over the next hill were three motorcycle police officers. I was not speeding at this time, but as I passed the officers, the first one went out and pulled me over and the next one pulled over the car in front of me. Apparently, there were planes in the air and my speed had been clocked by air. My ticket was practically all filled out for me, it had my name, my address, vehicle and registration… it was right out of 1984!
Unfortunately, I did not have the opportunity to take an online driver safety course for ticket dismissal or point reduction and I was stuck with a massive bill for speeding.
