It is part of the ever growing campaign by traffic safety experts and law enforcement officials to combat distracted driving, which is taking as many lives now as drinking and driving.
The Texas State House of Representatives just passed a ban on texting and driving, but some would say the law is somewhat watered down, it bans typing and driving but does not ban reading the text?
The criminalization of texting and distracted driving will not reverse the current training, we need more public campaigns such as the traffic signs and more education.
Education is important, educated drivers set good examples for their kids with respect to mature driving behavior and creates a focus on safe driving habits.
