Drive With Courtesy, Not Arrogance

Posted on by Defensive Driving | in Driver Safety For You & Your Family

A employee asked me an interesting question one morning after their commute to work: Have you ever realized that some with noticeably exotic vehicles tend to drive extra fast or have risk taking driving behaviors….Yes. I replied. I have definitely witnessed that before. Some drivers drive with arrogance instead of courtesy.

This includes big wheel trucks, cars with V8 engines, exotic vehicles, and sometimes 18-wheeled vehicles. On many occasions, I personally, have almost been run over by over-sized vehicles. When and if one chooses to purchase an non-standard sized vehicle there are a few things that should be considered. This includes blind spots and stopping distance.

As described in the Florida traffic school course, FloridaWheelsinMotion.com, stopping distance is affected by a number of factors, including load, condition of the road surface, tires, brakes, driver skill and design and type of vehicle.

It doesn’t matter what type of car you are driving or how many accessories your vehicle has; Driving rules still apply and it is bad driving behavior to drive with arrogance. No matter how good a car’s engineering and brakes are, there is nothing they can do to contradict the laws of physics. This increase in speed will inevitably increase stopping distance. This impacts small or large vehicles alike.

Not only does the Florida traffic school course allow for a great refresher or ticket dismissal, those who complete the Florida Traffic School Course course may be eligible for discounts for auto insurance!
