Key to Running Electric Cars May Come From an Unlikely Source

According to a new report, the key to producing more energy efficient electric car batteries could be in candle soot.

In the article, scientists Manohar Kukunuri and Chandra S. Sharma of the Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad, India, report that candle soot could be used to create a much cheaper, more long lasting, and energy efficient battery for electric vehicles, due to it’s ability to conduct electricity.

This would be exciting news for the industry, as batteries are incredibly expensive, difficult to make, and don’t last very long.

To read more about it, head over to this article from The Huffington Post, or check out the report by Kukunuri and Sharma.
